Financial Information

As you compare Due North Aviation with other flight schools of interest, it is wise to understand what is really behind the prices you are seeing on other websites. Other helicopter training facilities frequently quote the cost of earning licenses on the minimum number of flight hours required by the FAA. While it is possible to be adequately trained for examination in this amount of time, in general, students will need additional hours to be fully self-sufficient in handling and performing all maneuvers in an aircraft. Learning to fly a helicopter is a challenging endeavor, and it it’s Due North Aviation’s top priority to create safe, confident pilots who are able to handle themselves in the broad spectrum of situations a helicopter pilot will encounter during flight.

All students researching flight school should be aware that there will be additional expenses encountered besides the cost of flight training in the helicopter. For example, students should be prepared to cover the costs of books, supplies, the medical exam, FAA administered written test as well as flight examination fees. Clarify with each flight school what’s behind their pricing and what additional fees get tacked on.
